Freedom March

I joined the march this past Saturday, September12, 2009 in Washington D.C. The march started near the White House and proceeded down Pennsylvania Avenue to the capital building. The marchers were average people of all ages, sex, color and political affiliation. They were superbly courteous to each other and respectful of all property en rout. I witnessed some who carried plastic bags for picking up bits of trash as they walked. It was truly inspiring to see a wall of humanity from one end of Pennsylvania Avenue to the other, carrying signs of protest.

There were several cars parked along the way, I suspect they were placed there for the, “Mob,” to turn over and burn, but we resisted the temptation. As you can see in this photo, we also resisted trampling flowers.

I’ve heard pundits on Sunday television shows remark that the march was all about health care, the growing deficit or a number of other things. How would they know? They weren’t there. The feeling I got, as a participant, was that there was an alarming skepticism of big government slowly sucking the life out of freedom. That’s why I refer to the march as the Freedom March.

And still, word from the White House is that these people do not represent main stream America. Then who the hell does?

It seems as though the Obama administration and the Democrat Congress are oblivious or ignorant to what’s going on around them. For one thing they seem to be mathematically challenged.

They admit that there’s really only about 10 to 15 million people who are hopelessly uninsured for health care. To remedy this they want to destroy the health care system in existence and replace it with government run, universal health care that will, admittedly, cover only 94% of Americans.

The way I figure, that leaves 6% of Americans who will not be covered, which is equal to 18 million Americans. That’s more then before they screwed with it.

In another case, Senator Claire McCaskill said that there could be billions of dollars saved by just cutting down on waste in Medicare, citing the over issuance of electric carts.

Again, the way I figure it is most people who use electric carts are seniors. So who will make the decision as to which senior will get an electric cart and who will not? Maybe the death panel, huh Claire.

But Clair is thinking ahead of the curve because when electricity costs go through the roof from cap-and-tax, renewable mandates, federal land no drill policies, no Yucca Mountain to help nuclear facilities, etc. then those seniors wont be able to afford charging the electric carts. Savings for Gaia! Obama promised to heal the world. Can you feel the waters receding?
