Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior

by Bucktowndusty

I watch lots of the Disney Channel now that I have a kid. What I've noticed is Disney has a multicultural agenda and their programming reflects this prominently.

Case in point – Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior.

Summarized, the gist of this show is American culture is shallow and materialistic. Chinese culture is deep, spiritual, and far superior to American culture.

Wendy Wu is a typical teenage girl (of Chinese descent). She shops, gossips, has a white boyfriend and wants to be homecoming queen. Her family is "Americanized," and is no different than the Jones. However, the Wu family gets a visit from a young monk that tells Wendy she is a reincarnated warrior that must defeat evil that visits every 90 years. Yet, all Wendy wants to do is shop and win homecoming.

At one point of the show Wendy's father gets upset and says to his wife that they have forgotten their Chinese roots, it was wrong to do so, and they will embrace it from now on. The wife agrees wholeheartedly.

Wendy ends up breaking up with her white boyfriend (who is made to look like a fool – imagine that), winning homecoming queen and defeating evil, but not before she "keeps it real" by changing her shallow, materialistic homecoming gown and replacing it with a traditional Chinese garb that her grandmother gives her. She even gives up her homecoming crown to the white girl – whose body the evil spirit took over conveniently.

So, the message was simple and clear. Discard shallow American people and customs. Embrace your home culture. Be a hyphenated American. Diversity is strength.

Walt Disney would be so proud. Rest in peace, you round-eyed, cracker ass cracker!

No Pay Raise For Obama

by A. Hamilton

I watched evangelical, Rick Warren, promote his empire this weekend by questioning H. Obama and John McCain in a game show format that proved one thing for sure. That is, if H. Obama is elected President he will need a pay raise to solve some of the problems that may arise during his one term, and that his wife and grandmother will, for sure, occupy high level positions in his cabinet. What should I do now grandma?

Both candidates, and all politicians, speak of alternative energy that includes electric cars. As it stands now, during the summer months when everyone turns on their air conditioners, we have electrical brown and black outs. Can you imagine one million cars being plugged in and charged at the same time? Our power grids would look like the inside of a 1940's bread toaster.

Neither candidate had to lie about universal health care, mainly because the question wasn't asked. It seemed appropriate though because the topic belongs in the egg basket of Hillary Clinton. However, I can report that there is great news for the populace - bad news for Hillary.

On television this week, Billy "If you call right now, I'll triple the order" Mays is advertising health care for the 47 million uninsured. In it he bellows everyone can afford health care. He declares that a whole family can be covered for less the two hundred and some dollars per month. That settles it! Health care problem solved.

Now Hillary can get back to destroying the Democrat Party.
