I’m not surprised at all that a Communist like Obama chose someone like Roy LaHood as his Transportation Secretary (they both hail from Illinois). It only fits Obama’s mold that LaHood would propose a massive Big Brother plan to monitor every private citizen’s driving habits and tax us accordingly.
It also wouldn’t surprise me one bit of down the road the Obama administration told us that certain groups of citizens can’t drive on certain days. We’d have to ration our gas to lesson our carbon footprints and all.
The only way I see this plan as being a potential good idea is with illegal immigration.
Fit every illegal alien’s vehicle with a GPS and let us know how much driving, and thus how much infrastructure strain they commit each year. Once we know this figure, we can bill foreign governments (mainly Mexico and Central American countries) for their share of our crumbling infrastructure.
Of course to do this, the Obama administration would have to admit that there are indeed borders; how else can Obama charge people for driving on “our” roads if we don’t defend and identify where “our” borders—and thus our roads—are?
