Governor Blagojevich appointed Roland Burris, a man who is very much qualified to be a United States Senator representing Illinois. However, Democrats turned Mr. Burris away at the front door because they said anyone appointed by Blagojevich would be, “Tainted.” In other words, guilt by association.
If this is the case, President Obama wouldn’t be, “tainted,” he would be inundated with coverage and deluged by reporters to complete opaqueness, not to mention guilt by association regarding the likes of William Aries, Jeremiah Wright, Rezko, Louis Farrakhan, etc.
While President Obama appears to have passed the, “tainting” test, he still must survive the horrible picks he has made for his Cabinet. An inventory follows:
For homeland security he chose the governor of Arizona, Janet Napolitano. This is the state with the worst illegal alien problem in the country. Here, illegals could build a four lane, one way highway across the border from Mexico to Arizona in broad daylight and Janet Napolitano’s solution to the problem would be to put “Easy Pass” toll booths in each lane.
For treasure secretary he chose Timothy Geithner, who got caught trying to cheat the I.R.S. out of tens of thousands of dollars.
For Commerce he chose the governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson who didn’t pass the smell test for the same reason tainter Blagojevich was arrested.
For Attorney General he chose Erick Holder who okayed President Clinton’s pardon of one of the F.B.I’s most wanted fugitives.
For Secretary of State he chose Hilary Clinton, whose husband Bill has been, and still is, receiving hundreds of millions of dollars from foreign governments that she will be negotiating with. (No conflict of interest there?)
Perhaps President Obama will be a good president. I hope so, but I don’t see how considering the num nuts he has picked for his cabinet.
Every indication is that these first few days everyone is bumbling and stumbling around.
So much for, “Hitting the ground running.”
