Obama said, “We’ll extend a hand if you unclench your fist.”
That’s nice. It has an intimidating, yet somewhat of a poetic rhythm to it albeit insipidly toothless. I doubt that it will be recorded in history along side of, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country,” or, “Don‘t shot until you see the white of their eyes,” or even, “The British are coming, the British are coming,” although I’m sure that’s why Obama said it.
What other purpose could it have? “We’ll extend a hand if you unclench your fist.”
It just doesn’t do anything, especially if he was directing it toward our enemies.
“We’ll extend a hand if you unclench your fist.” This phrase is as empty as Obama’s suit when he‘s wearing it.
Kim Jong-Il, Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez, aren’t going to respond by thinking, boy he’s so nice it just makes me want to unclench my fist and be nice too. Geese-zu-flips. “We’ll extend a hand if you unclench your fist.”
No, Kim Jong-Il, Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez don’t give a damn about Obama and the America he has weakened. As a matter of fact, they smirk at the mealy-mouthed sentence, and if they did make a fist it would be to look down at America and say, “See my finger? See my thumb? See my fist? You’d better run.”
“We’ll extend a hand if you unclench your fist.” It has no body, no substance and it’s untimely. But, it may go down in history right next to…… “God damn America.”
