Texas Tea

As I’ve said before:

Borders (and governments) are abstractions. They are fragile concepts accepted by like-minded individuals.

These individuals give their cooperation to these imaginary distinctions in exchange for their inclusion within something tangible; an orderly society where borders, order, and the like-minded individuals within protect each other from trespassers (and corrupt leaders) who believe in none of the above.

These like-minded individuals receive the honor and distinction of “citizen” for their cooperation, and reap the benefits of membership.
As citizens they demand that their elected officials protect their fragile, imaginary creation from harm. As elected officials, they must pass laws to do just that.

Currencies fund the bills passed by these officials to fulfill their duty.

Taxes collected from citizens back the currency’s worth.

Elections ensure that citizens can replace those politicians that fail their obligation.

This is the process of an orderly society. America is witnessing the opposite.

Both Republicans and Democrats have failed to protect our borders, and with the passage of several massive bailout packages (and countless other social and monetary policies), they are ensuring that our dollar with either collapse and loose it’s status as the reserve currency of the world or devalue so much that inflation will wreck our already fractured economy.

What we have is a government that is “too big not to fail.” It’s simply a matter of time before our government topples under its own weight, mismanagement and corruption.

So what if Governor Perry talks about succession. He sees the tea leaves and knows what’s coming. We shouldn’t concern ourselves with the logistics of how this would occur, or the pros and cons of such a move. We should realize first off that a) the tea parties, and nothing else, caused this Texas governor to talk succession, and most importantly b) states have suckled from the federal tit for way too long and should reclaim the state powers that our constitution rightfully gave them.

Governor Perry is a politician. He lives and breathes politics. He deals with our federal government on a daily basis in one way or another. He knows our federal government is too far gone to fix. This is eye-opening. He has first hand knowledge of what tea party protesters know in their hearts—that our votes no longer do a damn bit of good and our government is out of control. Perry is simply in a better position to do something about it. Succession talk is a final warning to Washington to clean up their act or else.

Citizens from every state realize that their federal government is no longer representative of their needs. Social security, Medicare, education, illegal immigration—both Republicans and Democrats failed to address these issues for decades. And with the latest bailout insanity, the citizenry has finally said enough is enough. They will no longer give their cooperation to a repressive, soon-to-fail government that will take them down with it.
