Someone at the State Dept. needs to select gifts for the Obamas to present to dignataries. Their gifts are giving the USA a black eye.

Hilarious! What a breath of fresh air the Obamas are…. none of that bowing to British establishment nonsense for them. Have you people forgotten what being a republic is all about? Or would you prefer to reside under British rule again where inequality and a class-ridden society are the norm?
Helena, are you serious? The Obamas are not a breath of fresh air for us. Just because ANY change for you Europeans makes Obama look like a messiah, doesn’t mean us Americans want any and every color of socialism. Get your own breaths of fresh air. Don’t borrow ours.
They have not been thrilling the representatives from Germany or France either…in fact, they said that “pretty speeches” was not going to make any difference in that summit.

The problem is that the Obama’s aren’t making a statement by bucking protocol; they aren’t stressing America’s long independence from Imperial rule by refusing to curtsey and bow. They are simply CLUELESS when it comes to foreign dignitaries! There is nothing refreshing in seeing the USA’s representatives behave boorishly, foolishly, or incompetently. Referring to the entire UK as “England” was disrespectful and ignorant akin to referring to the USA as “the confederate states”. It’s also obvious that when it matters to the Obama’s they are quite willing to scrape and bow. Look at Mr. Obama’s respectful kowtow to King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia. Why couldn’t he have shown just a little of that same respect to the Queen of America’s most important economic and military ally?
